REMEMBER HOW YOU FELT WHEN THIS HAPPENED...

For instance, 2 weeks ago, you were ready to throw the Memphis Tiger Football Team under the bus...Fire the coaches! The administration don't know what they are doing! Stay positive, grateful and hopeful and let life do what it does so God can do what HE does. That same football team is right back in the conversation again for CFB playoff contention. Simmer 901! Simmer...
Whew! So let's get into it! 1st of all, please forgive me for my silence the past few weeks. Things with the site weren't working the way I wanted them to (still aren't) and so I was waiting to make sure they were working before I started to respond. But here we are and if there was ever a need for this site, NOW is the time!
Memphis "901", please stop being so emotional about Ja and the Grizzlies. We've barely made it through 2 weeks and hit 1 moment of adversity including the onslaught of injuries. As a result, I've heard, "Fire the coach", "Ja needs to leave", "Ja is about to be traded," "This organization sucks!", etc... I could keep going but THIS SITE and MOVEMENT is not about negativity but positivity!
Stop letting people OUTSIDE this city fabricate the narrative for what's happening inside the city or Grizzlies organization.
Memphis "901"! They been wanting to steal Ja from us since the 1st season he got here. In the beginning, they were saying that his frame would NOT hold up to the rigors of the NBA schedule and that his style of play would ultimately shorten his career (sounds eerily similar to a a 3.time champion GSW guard we know of). But those of you who are fans and have seen this man play have seen that he is very special and he has a talent that ONLY GOD can give. He's not just good. he is blessed with a gift that everyone in a NBA roster does not possess.
With that being said, I want to challenge the Memphis community and all Grizzlies and Ja Morant fans to stay away from the ledge and start speaking LIFE into this organization AND its staff and players. The LAST thing they need is for US to be divided.
My pastor reminded us yesterday that it is the will of GOD that we rejoice in ALL circumstances and the way we do that is thru prayer and being thankful for what we have already. NOT by jumping on sides and creating dissension within the city and fan base.
Now there are people who will read this and laugh and criticize everything I just said because they dont believe GOD has anything to do with this. But those of you who have a relationship with GOD know He is everywhere and cares about every aspect of HIS children.
I want those of you who believe to pray out these 4 things and then watch GOD do something miraculous:
1) Pray for the organization to see that their choice in Ja was more than just obtaining a franchise player, but it was a catalyst for uplifting the city and impacting change and belief for everyone involved. Pray that they see their need for HIM beyond basketball.
2) Pray that the new coach, Coach Isalo figures out what he wants to do and HOW he wants to implement his new offense quickly (REMEMBER: all the pieces aren't there when we were up 30 on OKC). Pray that he humbles himself and learns how to speak the right language to motivate ALL of his players to get their maximum effort and potential. Pray that he realizes Xs and Os are NECESSARY, but his ability to motivate the team to give 100% heart and effort are always what causes victory in the end.
3) Pray that Ja steps up to the plate and leads with honor and ferocity. Pray that HE understands that his leadership will require him to do some things he doesn't want to do, but it will be worth it. Show him the power of sacrifice and humility while he takes on everything that comes with the season.
4) Pray that our city doesn't succumb to the opinion of those who DON'T live here and who live solely on their emotions. Pray that we stay thankful for WHAT we have and WHO we have and that we remain hopeful. I was also reminded yesterday that GRATITUDE fuels HOPE! lets give HOPE some momentum 901.
I've already prayed these things. So if you join with me, we can be the 6th man that nobody talks about but makes the MOST impact.
That is - only if you believe in the power of prayer and speaking life into situations!
God bless you 901 - Lets start with the Pistons tonight!!!!
